Hello my beautiful people,
Some may know me and my journey well and others may not. To begin with, I have been appointed to a position with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Japan and I am moving to Tokyo this August to begin the adventure that God has given me in bringing the Gospel to the Japanese people. Since I was a child, God had given me a passion for the disparity of gospel access both in Japan and at the ends of the earth.
I knew since I was 12 that God had been calling me to Japan and through the years though this was not always clear, he confirmed to me and my community time and again of where he was bringing me to.
In following this calling, I am joining a team in Tokyo in their efforts to evangelize through outreach, meeting felt needs, discipling new believers, raising new leaders and working together to plant new churches in the Tokyo area and beyond. The goal is to help build self-sustaining, self-propagating families of faith in Jesus Christ.
To be able to do these things effectively, my first two years will be spent focusing on language acquisition. After this I will be moving into full time ministry.
Tokyo, being the world’s largest city by population with over 37 million people (2019), still stands as a highly unreached corner of the Earth with less than 1% of the population identifying as Christian. Both modern and traditional, Tokyo is a wonder to behold inasmuch as it is rooted in their history and heritage in Buddhism and Shintoism. Contending with a shrinking population, difficult job market, high suicide rates, an economic downturn and growing hopelessness, the Japanese still stand as an unreached nation with a desperate need for a savior even after hundreds of years of missionary efforts.
To try and keep things here succinct, I will be using this blog as a base for my monthly updates, prayer requests, partnership updates, video updates, needs, general information as well as funny stories and God stories as I see God moving in my life and in others.
I would love to hear from you all as well and encourage you to subscribe for email updates and, as the posts come out, to comment, to share your own responses, stories and more.
I look forward to working together with you all and sharing this journey that God has placed me on!
Love and Blessings my peoples! <3
